Finding happiness in hard times

For almost half of my life I was ill. That is when I discovered: you have to make happiness yourself. And it is not found in big things, but in unexpected corners.

I tell you my story and share insights and tips to help you when life turns out differently than you hoped.

The book is written in Dutch.

Keynote Lichtpuntjes spotten, from rush to happiness

Keynote: Spotting bright spots

I share what helped me when everything felt dark. Where you can find happiness, especially when it is hard. And above all: how you can make it lighter yourself.

My intention? That you walk out happier than you came in. That you feel: hey, I can do this too!

We do this step by step. Because small steps make giant leaps.

This is for you if…

  • πŸ’› You are going through grief, pain or illness, and you want to know how to get through it.
  • πŸ’› You seem to have it all (a job, a home, a relationship), yet you have that nagging feeling: is this it?
  • πŸ’› You are waiting for happiness until life gets easier (spoiler: precisely when things are hard, happiness matters most!)

What this book gives you

  • 🌟 Honest stories that make you feel: I am not alone.
  • 🌟 Small steps you can apply right away, even on hard days.
  • 🌟 Insights from experts. Not dusty, not woolly, but practical.
  • 🌟 Hope, recognition and support.
  • 🌟 Humour, because laughing helps!

Why I had to write this book

I never had the ambition to write a book. Just the idea of putting my story on paper… stomach ache! Why would I share the hardest parts of my life?

Until I spoke with someone who was in the middle of a difficult time. As I listened, I thought: I recognise this. This was me. She asked how I dealt with it back then, and I told her about the small things that helped me.

She said: β€œAnk… this moves me. I needed this so much.”

And in that moment I knew: my pain does not outweigh the chance to help someone.

That is why I wrote Lichtpuntjes spotten. Because my story might just be the bright spot you need right now.
